About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced Engineering Manager with strong technical expertise in Power Systems, Power Transformers, and HV/EHV Substations. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience working with Electrical EPC companies, Transformer Manufacturers, OEMs, or Power Transmission project execution organizations. This role requires a technically strong leader capable of handling engineering design reviews, technical troubleshooting, testing, commissioning support, protection systems, and multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Candidates whose experience is limited to utility operations and maintenance without significant exposure to engineering, EPC execution, transformer manufacturing, testing, or commissioning are unlikely to be a fit for this role.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead engineering activities for power transformer, switchyard, and substation projects from engineering review through commissioning support.
- Review and approve Single Line Diagrams (SLDs), General Arrangement (GA) Drawings, Protection Schematics, Wiring Diagrams, and Electrical Design Documents.
- Provide technical leadership for Power Transformers, Circuit Breakers, CTs, PTs, Isolators, Lightning Arresters, Busbars, Switchgear, and Control & Protection Panels.
- Lead technical troubleshooting, engineering reviews, and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for complex electrical issues.
- Support Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT),



pre-commissioning, commissioning, and project energization activities.
- Review engineering calculations, equipment selection, technical specifications, vendor drawings, and engineering deliverables.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, IS standards, project specifications, and client requirements.
- Coordinate with clients, consultants, EPC teams, OEMs, vendors, and project execution teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Guide engineering teams on transformer engineering, protection philosophy, relay coordination, testing methodologies, and substation engineering.
- Monitor engineering schedules, project milestones, technical quality, and engineering deliverables.
- Mentor engineering teams and provide technical guidance throughout project execution.
- Support technical bid evaluations, engineering documentation, project planning, and design optimization activities.

Required Skills

- Strong technical knowledge of Power Systems, Power Transformers, HV/EHV Substations, and Switchyard Engineering.
- In-depth understanding of Differential, Distance, REF, Overcurrent, Earth Fault, and other Protection Systems.
- Hands-on knowledge of Transformer Testing including TTR, Winding Resistance, Tan Delta, Insulation Resistance, Vector Group Verification, Magnetic Balance, and related electrical tests.




- Strong understanding of Circuit Breakers, CTs, PTs, Isolators, Lightning Arresters, Busbars, Relay Panels, and Control & Protection Systems.
- Ability to independently review SLDs, GA Drawings, Wiring Diagrams, Protection Schematics, and Electrical Design Documents.
- Excellent troubleshooting, engineering review, technical decision-making, and fault analysis skills.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, planning, and communication skills.

Qualifications

- B.E. or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering (M.Tech preferred).
- 10–18 years of experience with Electrical EPC Companies, Transformer Manufacturers, OEMs, or Power Transmission Project Execution organizations.
- Proven experience leading engineering teams for Power Transformer, HV/EHV Substation, or Switchyard projects.
- Must be located within commutable distance to New Delhi, Delhi, India.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Transformer Manufacturers, Electrical EPC Companies, OEMs, or Power Transmission projects.
- Experience handling engineering activities for substations rated 132 kV, 220 kV, or above.
- Hands-on involvement in FAT, SAT, pre-commissioning, commissioning, testing, and energization activities.
- Robust knowledge of IEC, IEEE, and IS standards related to power systems and electrical equipment.
- Experience in engineering design review, technical bid evaluation, vendor document review, project planning, and technical documentation.
- Experience managing multidisciplinary engineering teams and interacting with clients, consultants, OEMs, and EPC partners.

- • Willingness to travel to project sites whenever required.
