Position Title: Engineer or Sr. Engineer - Quality (Incoming Quality Control)

Location: MHMS Chennai Plant

1) Primary Responsibilities:

- Perform incoming inspection of raw materials, components, and sub-assemblies (mechanical, electrical, plastics, castings, stampings, wiring harnesses, packaging materials, PCBs, etc.) according to receiving inspection plans and sampling plans.
- Verify materials against engineering drawings, specifications, BOM, and purchase requirements.
- Maintain and apply receiving inspection checklists, sampling plans (AQL), lot disposition, and quarantine procedures.
- Review supplier CoC, test reports, material certificates, and regulatory documents.
- Measure and verify parts using calibrated metrology equipment (CMM, micrometers, verniers, gauges, microscopes).
- Conduct Measurement System Analysis (MSA) and ensure gauge calibration status is current.
- Record and report nonconformances (NCR), initiate material rejections, and manage quarantine/returns in coordination with Procurement and Supplier Quality.
- Support supplier corrective actions (CAPA/SCAR) and follow up on effectiveness.
- Maintain incoming quality records, inspection reports, and traceability documentation per ISO 13485 requirements.




- Participate in supplier development visits and provide technical support for incoming-quality-related improvements.
- Ensure incoming inspection area complies with safety, housekeeping, and quality procedures.
- Provide regular reports on incoming quality performance to the Quality Manager.

2) Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

- Develop and implement ISO 13485 / ISO 9001 System requirements at MHMS.
- Understanding of inspection methods, sampling plans (ISO 2859), GD&T;, and technical drawings.
- Proficient with metrology equipment and basic statistical tools.
- Knowledge of MSA, FAI, Document fundamentals, Control Plan concepts, and 7 quality tools.
- Valuable report writing and communication skills, ability to escalate and coordinate with cross-functional teams.
- Computer literate: SAP & MS Office and quality/inspection database familiarity.
- Incoming rejection rate (PPM and percentage) and trend analysis.
- Rate of on-time inspections completed.
- NCR creation and closure time.

3) Qualifications / Experience:

- BE or B. Tech in Mechanical / Electrical or equivalent degree with 3 to 8 years of experience in Supplier Quality function.
- Diploma in Mechanical/Electrical with 5 to 10 years of experience.
