Company Description HYFIX India Private Limited specializes in advanced positioning and navigation technology, with a focus on RTK (Real-Time Kinematic) hardware and embedded software. The company builds high-precision systems for robotics, automation, surveying, and intelligent mobility, working across hardware, embedded systems, and software to deliver reliable, scalable products. The team operates in a hands-on, engineering-driven workplace that values technical rigor and practical problem-solving.
Role Description This role designs, develops, and integrates embedded hardware and firmware for RTK-based robotic and automation systems — spanning fixed base station hardware, handheld survey rovers, and compact RTK modules embeddable into platforms such as drones, robots, and autonomous vehicles. The work covers circuit design, sensor integration, microcontroller/processor-based boards, and real-time communication interfaces for positioning and control, along with ROS/ROS2 driver and package development so RTK modules integrate cleanly into robotics and autonomous systems. Day to day, this means developing and testing embedded software, debugging hardware at the PCB level, optimizing system performance, and working with cross-functional teams to turn product requirements into robust designs.
The engineer also documents designs, supports system integration and field testing, assists customers integrating RTK modules into their own systems, and drives continuous improvement in reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
Responsibilities Design RTK base station, rover, and embeddable module hardware — circuit design, sensor integration, and microcontroller/processor-based boards. Develop embedded firmware (C/C++, RTOS or bare-metal)
and real-time communication interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN) for positioning and control. Build ROS/ROS2 drivers and packages for integration into robotics and autonomous systems.
Debug hardware at the PCB level and optimize system performance. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into robust designs. Support system integration, field testing, and customer troubleshooting on hardware, firmware, and ROS-level issues.
Produce documentation, integration guides, and reference designs. Contribute to continuous improvement in reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
Qualifications Strong foundation in robotics — motion control, sensor fusion, and integration of robotic subsystems. Proficiency in embedded software development (C/C++ or similar), RTOS or bare-metal programming, and hardware bring-up. Hands-on experience with microcontrollers, microprocessors, communication protocols (UART, SPI, I2C, CAN), and PCB-level debugging.
Hands-on ROS/ROS2 experience — writing drivers/nodes and integrating sensors. Demonstrated analytical skills for troubleshooting complex hardware–software interactions and optimizing performance.
Experience with process automation, control systems, and building reliable test/deployment workflows. Knowledge of GNSS/RTK concepts, signal processing, and real-time data handling is highly beneficial. Effective communication skills for cross-functional collaboration, technical documentation, and presenting designs clearly.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics, Electrical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Computer Engineering, Geomatics, Geodesy, or a related field. Able to work on-site in Bengaluru in a fast-paced, multi-tasking product development environment.
