Role Description The Electrical BIM Modeler will develop, update, and manage detailed 3D electrical models in BIM platforms for building and infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities include interpreting electrical design drawings and specifications, modeling power, lighting, low-voltage, and other electrical systems, and ensuring coordination with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines. The role involves identifying and resolving clashes, maintaining model accuracy and standards, preparing construction-ready documentation, and supporting design teams with timely revisions and updates.
The Electrical BIM Modeler will collaborate closely with engineers, project managers, and other BIM professionals to meet project timelines and quality requirements.
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai.
Qualifications
- Candidates should possess solid BIM modeling skills using tools such as Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD, with specific experience in electrical systems.
- Candidates should possess knowledge of electrical design principles, power distribution, lighting layouts, cable routing, panel schedules, and relevant industry codes and standards.
- Candidates should possess skills in clash detection, coordination workflows, and model-based documentation for construction and installation.
- Candidates should possess familiarity with VDC processes, model-based quantity take-offs, and data management within BIM environments.
- Candidates should possess robust attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary project teams.
- Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field, along with prior experience in BIM modeling for AEC projects, will be highly beneficial.
- Experience with international project standards, exposure to digital twins or advanced visualization, and willingness to continuously upskill in digital engineering will be considered an advantage.
