Role Description The Editing Intern role is a full time hybrid position based in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with some flexibility for work from home. The intern will support the post-production process by organizing footage, assembling rough cuts, and assisting in refining edits for festival content and promotional materials. Day-to-day responsibilities include syncing audio and video, trimming clips, adding basic transitions or effects under guidance, and ensuring continuity and coherence in edited pieces.
The intern will collaborate closely with editors, filmmakers, and the festival team to prepare content for screenings and digital platforms, while maintaining timelines and adhering to creative direction. The role also involves basic file management, exporting deliverables in required formats,
and contributing ideas to enhance the visual storytelling of festival projects.
Qualifications
Solid understanding of video editing fundamentals and proficiency with at least one editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve).
Basic skills in post-production workflows, including media organization, timelines, trimming, transitions, and exporting files.
Strong visual storytelling sense, with attention to pacing, continuity, and emotional impact.
Ability to follow creative direction, accept feedback, and iterate on edits in a timely manner.
Strong organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
Good written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with creative and technical teams.
Genuine interest in films, film festivals, and emerging cinematic trends, especially among youth and Gen Z audiences.
Currently pursuing or recently completed studies in Film, Media, Communication, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Comfort working in a hybrid model in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, with reliable access to necessary equipment and internet for remote tasks.
Experience with basic color correction, audio cleanup, or graphics integration is a plus but not mandatory.
