Economist & Market Commentator — Office of the CEO
Reports to: CEO (dotted line to Head of Brand & Communications)
Location: Pune Experience: 4–8 years
Type: Full time The role
You will be the economic mind and writing voice behind the CEO's public presence — primarily on X, with extensions to LinkedIn and long-form content. This is not a social media management job. You will form independent views on markets and macro and translate them into commentary sharp enough that market participants stop scrolling.
The CEO's account is a credibility asset for the firm. You are its custodian. What you'll do
Think first
· Track macro releases (CPI, IIP, GDP, trade data), RBI policy, global central bank action, and their transmission into Indian equity and rate markets
· Build a running point of view on market structure — FII/DII flows, derivatives positioning, sectoral rotation, primary market activity
· Generate the content agenda rather than react to it: identify what will matter in two weeks, not what trended yesterday Write
· Daily and event-driven posts in the CEO's voice — Budget day, MPC day, results season, volatility events, regulatory shifts
· Long-form threads and commentaries (800–2,000 words) on subjects with genuine depth: SEBI's F&O; reforms, retail participation trends, market microstructure changes, valuation debates
· Op-eds and bylined columns for financial publications
· Talking points and speech notes for TV appearances, panels and earnings calls Publish and engage
· Own the posting calendar and cadence; know when to post and when to hold
· Manage rapid-response during market events — a considered take within the hour, not the day
· Navigate the fintwit ecosystem: know who matters, when to engage, when to stay out What you need
Non-negotiable
· NISM Series XV (Research Analyst) certification, valid and current
· Master's in Economics, Finance or equivalent
· 4+ years in macro research, economics, market strategy or financial journalism
· A public writing portfolio — published research, columns, or a personal account with a track record. We will read it closely. Strongly preferred
· Prior experience ghostwriting for a senior executive, and comfort with the ego-free nature of the work
· Fluency with data sources: CMIE, Bloomberg/Refinitiv, NSE/BSE datasets, RBI publications
· Demonstrated ability to build charts and visuals that carry an argument
· Native understanding of X as a medium — thread architecture, hooks, timing, what earns quote-tweets versus what dies Temperament
· Opinionated, but shows the working
· Comfortable being wrong in public and correcting cleanly
· Understands that a broking CEO's account carries regulatory weight — instinctively knows the line between commentary and a recommendation How you'll be measured
· Quality of thinking as judged by the CEO and by who engages with the content
· Consistency of output through a market cycle
· Follower growth and engagement among a qualified audience — traders, investors, journalists, allocators
· Zero compliance incidents Interested candidates can share their CVs on
