Role Description This is a full-time, in office role for a Docketing Expert (Patent, Trademark, Copyright) based in the Pune Division.

The Docketing

Expert will manage and maintain IP docketing systems for patents, trademarks, copyrights, and designs, ensuring accurate entry and tracking of deadlines, filings, and prosecution events. Daily responsibilities include reviewing incoming correspondence from IP offices and clients, updating case records, generating reminders, and coordinating with attorneys and paralegals on required actions.



The role involves preparing and organizing documentation for filings, monitoring status of applications and prosecutions, and assisting with reporting to clients on their IP portfolios.

The Docketing

Expert will also help refine docketing workflows, support compliance with firm policies and regulatory timelines, and contribute to process improvements within the IP practice.

Qualifications

- Strong knowledge of patent procedures, including Patent Applications, Patent Preparation, and Patentability assessments.
- Understanding of Patent Law and experience supporting Patent Prosecution and related compliance requirements.
- Prior experience with IP docketing systems and managing deadlines for patents, trademarks, and copyrights.
- Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple matters in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordinating with attorneys, team members, and clients.
- Comfort working with digital tools and databases; proficiency with standard office software (e.g., spreadsheets, document management).
- Relevant academic background such as a degree or diploma in law, paralegal studies, intellectual property, or a related field; techno-legal exposure or IP certifications are an advantage.
- Experience in an IP law firm or corporate IP department is preferred, particularly in docket management and deadline tracking.
