About the Role The role is responsible for strategic sourcing, procurement planning, supplier development, cost optimization, and vendor relationship management for components used in Distribution Transformers (up to 3300 kVA class).

The ideal candidate should have relevant years of experience sourcing transformer components from leading electrical equipment manufacturers or transformer OEMs.

Key Responsibilities

- Source raw materials, bought-out items, and fabricated components used in Distribution Transformer manufacturing.
- Execute Material Requirement Planning (MRP) based on production schedules and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Procure transformer components from domestic and international suppliers while ensuring optimum cost, quality, and delivery.
- Float RFQs, evaluate quotations, conduct techno-commercial negotiations, and finalize suppliers.
- Develop and qualify alternate suppliers for critical commodities.
- Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Planning, QA/QC, and Stores for procurement requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance related to Quality, Cost, Delivery (QCD), and lead-time adherence.
- Support import procurement activities, logistics coordination,



and customs documentation wherever applicable.
- Execute annual rate contracts and long-term procurement agreements.
- Drive value engineering, localization, and cost reduction initiatives.
- Maintain procurement documentation, supplier records, and ERP transactions.
- Participate in supplier audits and supplier capability assessments.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production.

Preferred Experience

- 3-5 years of experience in Strategic Sourcing, Procurement, or Supply Chain within Distribution Transformer manufacturing.
- B.E./B.Tech or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
- Hands-on experience in procurement of transformer components and raw materials.
- Strong understanding of Material Requirement Planning (MRP) and Bill of Materials (BOM).
- Experience in vendor development, supplier evaluation, and supplier negotiations.
- Knowledge of import procurement, logistics coordination, and inventory planning.
- Experience working with ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/MS Dynamics or equivalent).
- Solid analytical, negotiation, and supplier relationship management skills.
