As a Desktop Application Test Engineer with 5-10 years of experience, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the quality and stability of our flagship C++/QT/QML-based desktop applications. You will be deeply embedded within our product development lifecycle, collaborating closely with software developers, product managers, and fellow QA engineers.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will involve designing, executing, and reporting on comprehensive manual test cases, meticulously identifying defects, and validating fixes. This role directly impacts the end-user experience, guaranteeing that our complex software operates flawlessly and meets the stringent performance and reliability standards our clients expect, thereby upholding Blue Ocean Systems' reputation for delivering superior technical solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and develop detailed, comprehensive manual test plans and test cases for C++/QT/QML desktop applications, ensuring thorough coverage of functional and non-functional requirements for critical user workflows.
- Execute rigorous manual testing across various application modules, focusing on stability, performance, and user experience, to identify and document defects accurately for the development team.
- Perform in-depth testing of C++ backend logic and multithreaded components, validating data integrity, concurrency, and resource management under diverse operating conditions to prevent system failures.
- Collaborate proactively with development teams to understand new features, architectural changes, and bug fixes, facilitating effective test strategy formulation and efficient defect resolution.




- Document and track defects using established bug tracking systems, providing clear, concise, and reproducible steps for developers to expedite the debugging process.
- Participate in requirement reviews and design discussions, offering valuable input from a quality assurance perspective to identify potential issues early in the development cycle.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of our testing processes and methodologies, sharing best practices and advocating for quality throughout the software development lifecycle.

Required Skillset:

- Demonstrated expertise in manual testing methodologies and practices for complex desktop applications.
- Proficient understanding of C++ programming concepts and experience in testing C++ based applications.
- Solid experience with QT and QML frameworks, including the ability to understand application architecture and identify testable components.
- Robust grasp of multithreading concepts and practical experience in testing multithreaded applications for concurrency issues, deadlocks, and race conditions.
- Ability to create clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans, test cases, and defect reports.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail and a methodical approach to defect identification.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, for collaborating with cross-functional teams and articulating technical issues clearly.
