Minimum 8+ years of relevant automotive interior / Exterior design experience (CATIA/Creo)
Demonstrated experience in injection moulded part design for automotive OEM programs
Proficiency in CATIA V5 at production-design level
Ability to read and produce engineering drawings to automotive OEM GD&T; standards
Ability to review master sections and identify tooling feasibility issues independently
Fluent communication in English — written and verbal — for all Volvo interactions
Understanding of Volvo or equivalent OEM design process from concept to production
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead the design for manufacturing & assembly (dfma) initiatives within the organization
2. Utilize cad design skills to create detailed product designs and engineering drawings
3. Implement and optimize design processes to enhance manufacturing efficiency
4. Collaborate with cross functional teams to support product development from concept to production
5. Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to team members
6.
Identify opportunities for cost reduction and quality improvement through dfma analysis
7. Stay updated on industry trends and advancements in cad design and engineering software
Skill Requirements
1. Proficiency in design for manufacturing & assembly (dfma) principles and methodologies
2. Robust cad design skills with expertise in Catia/Creo software
3. Solid understanding of product design, engineering, and manufacturing processes
4. Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications
5. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
6. Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Other Requirements 1.Relevant certifications in CAD design and Design for Manufacturing & Assembly are a plus.
