We are seeking a hands-on Database & Edge Functions Developer to own the data and server-side layer of a purpose-built CRM replacing an off-the-shelf platform. Must be available to start immediately.

This role is for someone who wants the database to be theirs. You will design the schema, write the security policies that decide who can see what, build the server-side logic that enforces the business rules, and build the serverless functions that connect the system to everything around it — email, calendar, e-signature, document storage and on-premises data.

The platform is already live and in daily use by sales, administration and operations teams, with several major modules still to build. You will work directly with the product owner and a front end developer who consumes everything you build, so clean, well-documented interfaces matter as much as the SQL behind them.

Front end familiarity is preferred but not essential. You should be able to read React and understand how your data is being consumed, even if you are not the one building the screens.

Key Responsibilities

1. Database Design & Data Integrity

- Design tables, relationships, constraints, enums and indexes to support new modules
- Own schema migrations end to end and keep development, test and production databases in step
- Write database functions and triggers that keep business rules close to the data
- Protect data integrity through constraints and transactional logic rather than hoping the application behaves
- Investigate and resolve slow queries, indexing gaps and data quality issues as volumes grow

2. Security & Access Control

- Write and maintain row level security policies so every user sees only the records they are entitled to see
- Manage role grants so the client reads safely and all writes route through controlled server-side paths
- Build and maintain the audit trail behind sensitive records
- Test every policy as each user role before handing work over
- Resolve findings from security and penetration testing within agreed turnaround

3. Edge Functions & Server-Side Logic





- Build and deploy serverless functions in TypeScript for business logic, scheduled jobs and privileged operations
- Authenticate and authorise every request, keeping permission checks on the server rather than in the browser
- Manage API keys and secrets safely and keep them out of client-side code
- Build retry, idempotency and error handling so repeated delivery cannot duplicate records

4. Integrations & Data Movement

- Integrate third-party services — email and calendar sync, e-signature, cloud document management, mapping and product catalogue data
- Build scheduled data feeds between the platform and on-premises systems
- Plan and run data migration and seed loads, including reconciling legacy data and protecting identifier integrity
- Build realistic test data for user acceptance testing rounds

5. Delivery

- Work to written tickets and deliver against the acceptance criteria on them
- Estimate your own work honestly and flag blockers early rather than going quiet
- Release through development, test and production in a controlled sequence
- Take part in daily stand-up and sprint planning, and keep ticket status current

Key Skills & Experience

Essential

- Three or more years working on production databases behind a live application
- Solid PostgreSQL — PL/pgSQL functions, triggers, constraints, enums, foreign keys and indexing strategy
- Hands-on experience with row level security, role grants and SECURITY DEFINER functions, or equivalent database-enforced access control
- Supabase experience, or equivalent experience with a managed PostgreSQL platform plus serverless functions
- TypeScript good enough to build and debug serverless functions unaided
- Solid grasp of database security and the principle of least privilege
- Confident with Git,



branching and working across multiple environments
- Experience integrating third-party APIs, including OAuth flows and webhooks

Desirable

- Deno runtime experience
- Enough React to read the front end and understand how your data is consumed
- Data migration from a legacy CRM or ERP
- Spatial or mapping data experience
- Experience building against large language model APIs, including tool use and structured outputs

Industry & Practical Experience

- Experience in construction, property, or other project-based environments (preferred)
- Exposure to workflows such as sales administration, estimating, drafting, contracts or site operations is highly regarded
- Experience on a CRM replacement or legacy system migration is an advantage
- Able to turn an operational problem described in plain language into a working technical solution

Pay: ₹396,077.17 - ₹1,513,992.93 per year
