Role Description:

The Database Architect will design, build, and harden the PostgreSQL + TimescaleDB estate underpinning Bhrigu's AI- and IoT-driven platforms, including Forms, MBR, MES, LIMS, CMMS, and SCADA, for regulated manufacturing and lab environments.

This is a hands-on role: you will work directly with the engineering team to actually set up the architecture, not just advise on it.



Daily responsibilities include designing multi-tenant PostgreSQL architecture (sharding/partitioning, row-level security, connection pooling, HA/DR), owning TimescaleDB for high-ingest SCADA/historian time-series data (hypertables, compression, continuous aggregates), and building GxP-grade data patterns, immutable audit trails, hash-chain integrity, ALCOA+, under 21 CFR Part 11 / GAMP 5. You will also tune for performance at scale and own backups, replication, and failover.

Qualifications:

- Deep PostgreSQL internals: MVCC, WAL, autovacuum, indexing, partitioning (must-have)
- Hands-on TimescaleDB experience in production (must-have)
- Multi-tenant SaaS database design experience
- Experience in GxP/regulated-data environments (pharma, medical devices, biotech, or similar) is a strong plus
- Familiarity with graph databases (ArcadeDB/similar) or vector databases (pgvector/similar) is a plus, not required
- Strong communication skills; comfortable working in a remote, cross-functional team
- Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience
