About The Role The Senior Data Security Specialist at Tech Data is a critical role responsible for implementing, managing, and enhancing data security solutions on a global scale. This role serves as both a technical expert and a strategic leader in safeguarding sensitive data across all operational geographies.

The incumbent will lead initiatives to review current data security measures, identify vulnerabilities, and develop innovative strategies to strengthen data protection. They will work closely with cross-functional teams, including application security, IT operations, and compliance, to ensure robust identity and access management, threat detection, and data monitoring processes are in place. The role demands staying abreast of the latest advancements in data security technologies, including AI-driven security tools, and leveraging these innovations to improve overall security posture.

Additionally, the Senior Data Security Specialist will document operational procedures, develop run books, and provide training to support teams to ensure consistent and effective security practices across the organization.

Qualifications The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field. They should have between 8 to 10 years of relevant experience in data security, with a proven track record of managing complex security projects and implementing security technologies.

Experience with AI services in data security is highly desirable.

Certifications such as CISSP, CISM,



or equivalent are preferred, demonstrating a commitment to professional development and expertise in security standards. The candidate must have excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, in English and the local language, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to diverse audiences. Strong organizational and time management skills are essential, along with the ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations effectively.

A deep understanding of data categorization, access controls, threat analysis, and automation processes is required. The candidate should also demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, cultural sensitivity, and the ability to build effective working relationships across different teams and management levels.

Responsibilities

- Lead the technical implementation, enhancement, and ongoing support of data security technologies, including Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions, ensuring they are aligned with organizational policies and compliance requirements.
- Execute and continuously improve core data security processes such as threat analysis, data monitoring, and controlling data access to prevent unauthorized data exposure.
- Develop and refine processes for data categorization and access controls for both structured and unstructured data, leveraging automation and advanced analytics to improve efficiency and security capabilities.
- Collaborate with the application security team to develop integrated processes for data orchestration, security improvements, documentation, and training, fostering a unified approach to data protection.
- Create and deliver comprehensive data analytics and KPI reports to monitor operational effectiveness, identify security gaps,



and ensure the health of security controls.
- Stay updated with emerging data security technologies and industry best practices, recommending cutting-edge solutions to enhance data protection strategies.
- Document operational procedures, develop run books, and conduct training sessions for support teams to ensure consistent application of security measures.
- Participate in cross-functional projects to improve data security architecture and support organizational compliance initiatives.
