As a key contributor, you will shape the architecture, standards, and strategic direction of data products across the enterprise. You will collaborate with curious, creative, and diverse teams around the world, driving clarity, consistency, and scalability in how data is designed, governed, and consumed.

As a Data Architect, Data Product Engineering, you will make an impact by:

- Defining and maintaining enterprise data product architecture standards, including Lakehouse‑based storage and modeling patterns, structured raw/curated/consumable layers, and strong domain boundaries.
- Guiding data product teams on schema design, data modeling for AI/analytics, and how to build reusable, scalable data products that serve multiple organizational use cases.
- Establishing AWS-based reference architectures for data products leveraging S3 Lakehouse storage (e.g., Iceberg), AWS Glue metadata management, and Lake Formation governance and access control.
- Partnering with platform teams to ensure data product needs influence shared platform capabilities, strengthening alignment between data architecture and platform engineering.
- Setting architectural expectations for governance, quality, observability, lineage, and data contracts to ensure that data products are durable, accountable, and built for operational excellence.
- Acting as a trusted advisor to Data Product Engineering teams, collaborating across data domains, security, governance,

and reliability disciplines to ensure enterprise‑ready, well‑operated data solutions.
- Influencing and evolving architectural standards based on production learnings to reduce operational risks and eliminate rework at scale.

Key Responsibilities

- Clear separation of raw, curated, and consumable data layers
- Domain ownership and data product boundaries

- Guide data product teams on:

- Schema design and evolution
- Data modeling for AI, analytics and downstream consumption
- Designing products that are reusable beyond a single use case

AWS & Lakehouse Design

- Establish reference architectures for data products built on AWS, including:
- S3-based Lakehouse storage (e.g., Apache Iceberg)
- Metadata management and catalogs (AWS Glue)
- Governance and access control (AWS Lake Formation)

- Ensure data product designs align with supported AWS services and platform standards
- Partner with Platform Build to ensure data product needs are reflected in shared platform capabilities

Governance, Quality & Operability

- Define architectural expectations for:
- Data contracts and ownership
- Data quality checks and observability signals
- Lineage and impact awareness at the product level

- Ensure data products are designed with:

- Operational supportability in mind
- Clear handoffs to Platform Reliability for run and optimize

- Influence standards that reduce operational risk and rework at scale

Collaboration & Influence

- Act as a trusted advisor to Data Product Engineering teams across domains
- Partner with Platform Reliability to incorporate production learnings into architectural standards
- Work with security and governance partners to ensure designs meet enterprise requirements without unnecessary friction

- Define business metrics, KPIs, or semantic models
- Create dashboards, reports, or BI content

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience
- 8+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or data architecture
- Demonstrated experience designing data solutions on AWS
- Strong understanding of:
- Lakehouse architectures (Iceberg, Delta Lake, or similar)
- SQL-based data modeling and transformation practices
- Analytical consumption patterns and downstream use cases

- Proven ability to influence engineering teams without direct authority

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience working in a data product or domain-aligned operating model
- Familiarity with:
- AWS Glue, Lake Formation, and S3-based data platforms
- Snowflake or similar enterprise analytical warehouses
- Data observability and quality frameworks

- Experience operating in a large, global, regulated enterprise environment
- Manufacturing, supply chain, or enterprise analytics experience

What Success Looks Like
