About The Role As a Qualcomm CPU Software Architect, you will be at the forefront of developing and optimizing software that enhances the performance, energy efficiency, and scalability of next-generation compute products. This role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, including CPU, DSP, and compiler teams, to design and implement software solutions that meet rigorous performance and power consumption standards.

You will be responsible for analyzing workloads, debugging performance issues, and conducting critical pre- and post-silicon verification to ensure that product specifications are achieved. Your expertise will directly impact the development of high-performance computing solutions that support a wide range of applications, from mobile devices to IoT and beyond.

Qualifications Ideal candidates will possess a minimum of 10+ years of experience in software engineering or related fields, with a strong background in programming languages such as C, C++, Assembly,



and scripting languages. A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required, with higher degrees (Master’s or PhD) preferred for senior roles.

Extensive knowledge of software stacks, including Linux internals and device drivers, is essential. Candidates should have a deep understanding of computer architecture and operating system concepts, along with proven experience in performance analysis and optimization. Exceptional problem-solving skills, technical documentation abilities, and a collaborative mindset are also necessary to succeed in this role.

Responsibilities Leverage expertise in CPU architecture to develop and optimize software solutions that deliver high performance and low power consumption. Conduct benchmarking and performance testing across various applications to ensure compliance with performance and energy efficiency targets.

Perform detailed workload analysis to identify bottlenecks and implement effective solutions. Debug and resolve software performance issues, employing a systematic approach to troubleshooting and optimization. Collaborate closely with CPU, DSP, and compiler teams to align software development with hardware capabilities and performance goals.

Document technical processes, testing procedures,



and results comprehensively to facilitate knowledge sharing and future development efforts. Participate in cross-disciplinary teams to innovate and improve software frameworks, ensuring they meet the evolving needs of Qualcomm’s cutting-edge products.
