Chief Executive Officer – Skill Development & Training Academy

Our client is a rapid-scaling professional training academy delivering advanced, skill-based certification programs, a hands-on capability-building institution serving individual learners and corporate clients across multiple centers in India, with ambitions to expand internationally. They are looking to bring on board a commercially sharp CEO to run the business as an independent profit center, reporting into the board.

The Opportunity:

This is a P&L; ownership role accountable for the full commercial engine of the academy — enrolments, corporate tie-ups, designing and rolling out new courses, consultancy revenue, and new market entry — while also running the discipline side: budgets, margins, utilization, and compliance across every center under the brand. It combines growth-stage energy with the rigor of running a multi-location, regulated training business.

Roles & Responsibilities:

- Full responsibility for topline and bottom-line performance — revenue, EBITDA, and margin — with direct accountability to the board for hitting annual targets.
- Growth strategy across every line of business: individual/student programs, corporate training contracts, consulting mandates, and certification-led revenue.
- Expansion into new geographies and the launch of new centers, including scoping and executing international assignments and partnerships




- Operational consistency across all existing centers — same quality bar, same SOPs, same customer experience, regardless of location.
- The annual business plan, revenue budget, and cost forecast, with ongoing tracking of utilization and unit economics per center.
- Building out flagship, specialized programs that position the academy as a category leader in its domain.
- Corporate and institutional relationships — building a pipeline that converts into long-term contracts.
- Regulatory and audit readiness, ensuring the business stays compliant as it scales.
- Building and mentoring a leadership bench capable of running a much larger organization.
- Revenue growth, EBITDA margin, new centers opened, corporate contracts signed, enrolment and utilization rates, and audit/compliance track record.

Client:

- Our client is along at 25-30 years of experience, with a meaningful stretch running a P&L; — in education, training, skilling, or a services business with a similar multi-location, high-touch delivery model.
- A track record of scaling revenue and improving margins, not just maintaining them.
- Experience managing operations across multiple locations/centers with consistent quality standards.
- Exposure to corporate B2B sales or institutional partnerships, in addition to any consumer/student-facing business.
- Comfort representing an organization externally — with corporate clients, regulators, and at industry forums.
