About The Role The role is a vital part of P&G;’s supply chain and logistics operations, focusing on ensuring the seamless and compliant import and export of raw materials, finished goods, equipment, and spare parts. The incumbent will be responsible for managing end-to-end import processes, coordinating with multiple stakeholders including external logistics partners, customs authorities, freight forwarders, and internal teams.
The position requires a strategic thinker with a strong understanding of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and logistics operations. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining supply chain efficiency, controlling costs, and ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements. Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics, export/import operations, customs procedures, freight forwarding, or related fields within a multinational or large enterprise environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel for reporting and data analysis.
Basic knowledge of SAP and Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is essential; experience with these tools will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of international trade compliance, documentation, and customs regulations across different countries.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to coordinate effectively across diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- India Import Shipment Management & Execution: Oversee the planning and execution of import shipments from various countries via sea and air, ensuring timely and accurate dispatches. Maintain a thorough understanding of export-import systems and procedures to facilitate seamless operations. Monitor contractor performance, ensuring adherence to dispatch timelines and business continuity, even under uncertain market conditions. Operate and manage tools such as SAP and TMS independently to track shipments and manage documentation.
- Controls & Compliance: Collaborate with regional teams to uphold control standards, conduct regular reporting, and participate in audits (CSA, CDA). Review vendor KPIs and ensure external compliance requirements are met through proper documentation and adherence to regulations across multiple countries.
- Payments & Controls Process: Ensure timely processing of payments to vendors involved in import activities.
Keep all shipment and payment activities updated accurately in P&G; systems such as SAP and TMS to prevent disruptions and maintain financial integrity.
- Cost Optimization Projects: Identify opportunities for cost savings within the import process by monitoring end-to-end activities. Lead initiatives to implement cost reduction strategies, contributing to overall business efficiency and profitability.
- Communication & Coordination: Establish regular communication channels with internal teams and external partners to ensure alignment and timely execution of tasks. Coordinate across geographies to prevent disruptions, address compliance issues, and support smooth supply chain operations.
