The Business Development Officer (BDO) plays a crucial role in expanding our retail network, driving adoption of nurture.retail app, and strengthening the companys presence across rural and semi-urban markets. This role demands strong market understanding, relationship-building skills, and the ability to execute field-level sales and distribution strategies effectively.
BDOs act as the frontline ambassadors of the company, ensuring retailer activation, ongoing engagement, and achievement of key sales & growth metrics.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop new business opportunities in assigned regions.
- Generate leads and build a strong sales pipeline.
- Conduct client meetings, presentations, and follow-ups for business conversion.
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with clients, partners, and stakeholders.
- Execute business development strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets.
- Conduct field visits and market research to identify potential opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal teams for smooth onboarding and client service.
- Maintain daily reports, MIS, and sales activity tracking.
- Represent the company in meetings, business discussions, and field interactions.
- Monitor competitor activities and market trends to support business planning.
Key Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of experience in Business Development / Sales / B2B Sales.
- Bachelors degree in any discipline.
- Robust communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to generate leads and convert them into business opportunities.
- Experience in client handling, meetings, and relationship management.
- Willingness to travel for field work and client visits.
Preferred (Good to Have):
- Experience in Agri-Tech, Agriculture, or related industry.
- Experience in field sales.
