Job Summary

We are seeking experienced Painters and Blasters for our shipbuilding projects. The ideal candidates should have hands-on experience in surface preparation, abrasive blasting, and industrial painting of ships, offshore structures, or heavy steel fabrication while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.

Key ResponsibilitiesBlaster

- Perform abrasive blasting (grit/shot blasting) on steel surfaces to achieve the required surface cleanliness and profile.

- Remove rust, mill scale, old coatings, and contaminants before painting.

- Operate and maintain blasting equipment safely and efficiently.

- Inspect blasted surfaces to ensure they meet project specifications.

Painter

- Apply primer, intermediate, and finish coats using airless spray, conventional spray, roller, or brush.

- Mix paints and coatings according to manufacturer specifications.

- Ensure the required Dry Film Thickness (DFT) and coating quality.

- Carry out touch-up painting and coating repairs as required.

General Responsibilities

- Read and follow work instructions and coating specifications.

- Ensure compliance with safety standards and wear appropriate PPE.

- Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in good condition.





- Coordinate with QA/QC and production teams to meet project schedules.

- Report equipment defects and safety concerns promptly.

Requirements

- ITI / Vocational qualification preferred.

- 2–5 years of experience in shipbuilding, ship repair, offshore, or heavy fabrication.

- Knowledge of blasting standards (e.g., SA 2.5) and industrial coating systems.

- Experience with airless spray painting and abrasive blasting equipment.

- Understanding of surface preparation, coating application, and quality requirements.

- Physically fit and able to work in confined spaces and at heights.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with marine coatings such as epoxy, polyurethane, and zinc-rich primers.

- Familiarity with DFT measurement and coating inspection requirements.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
