Job Overview

We're looking for a Senior Backend Engineer with 2–8 years of experience to join our Software Development team. You'll own the backend of analytics-driven web applications end to end - building scalable APIs, designing data models, and ensuring the systems that power our data visualization and tracking products are fast, reliable, and maintainable. The ideal candidate is a strong Python developer who takes ownership, writes clean code, and uses up-to-date tooling (including AI) to ship quality work on time.

Responsibilities

- Design, build, and maintain robust, scalable backend services and RESTful APIs using Python.
- Take end-to-end ownership of assigned features - from design through implementation, deployment, and maintenance.
- Model and optimize data storage across SQL and NoSQL databases to support analytics workloads.
- Build and maintain integrations that serve clean, structured data to the frontend and analytics layers.
- Participate actively in code reviews and uphold engineering best practices.
- Translate business and product requirements into reliable technical solutions.
- Use AI tools in your day-to-day workflow to accelerate delivery without compromising code quality.




- Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve issues across the backend stack with initiative.
- Write clean, efficient, well-documented, and well-tested code.

Required Skills

- 2–8 years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong proficiency in Python.
- Hands-on experience with at least one Python web framework - Django, FastAPI, or Flask.
- Solid experience with both RDBMS (PostgreSQL) and NoSQL (MongoDB) databases.
- Strong command of Git/GitHub and version control workflows.
- Proven experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
- Sound understanding of software architecture principles and design patterns.
- Experience with testing frameworks (e.g., pytest).
- Comfort integrating AI tools into daily development to improve speed and quality.
- Strong problem-solving ability and logical reasoning.
- Familiarity with containerization (Docker).

Good to Have

- Exposure to frontend fundamentals (JavaScript/React).
- Experience working with large or analytics-heavy datasets.
- Set up and improve CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and AWS-based infrastructure.
- Experience deploying and managing applications on AWS.
- Practical experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
