Company Overview:
Frevolt (web: www.frevolt.co) is a tech-enabled residential solar company on a mission to make rooftop solar simple, transparent, and accessible for homeowners across Maharashtra. We install solar rooftop systems in Sangli, Pune, and Nashik — and we build the software that powers every step of that journey, from the very first quote to long-term system performance. Our products serve both our customers and internal teams who deliver for them.
About the Role:
We are looking for a Backend (Database) Developer to join our engineering team and work primarily on our Supabase (PostgreSQL) backend – the data layer behind the apps our customers and field teams use every day.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with databases: modelling data cleanly, solving logical problems, writing efficient SQL, and building backend logic that scales. You'll report to Backend SDE, and work closely with the senior engineering team on live production systems – and you'll see the queries and functions you write show up directly in the product. It's a strong opportunity to build real, hands-on depth in modern backend engineering – Supabase, relational database design, API integrations, automation workflows, and performance optimization — at a fast-moving climate-tech company where your work ships quickly.
What You'll Own:
Database development
● Design and model database tables using sound normalisation principles.
● Write complex SQL queries to meet real business requirements.
● Build reusable database logic — views, functions, and stored procedures in PL/pgSQL.
● Implement triggers to automate data workflows.
● Manage relationships, foreign keys, constraints, and indexes.
● Create and optimise joins across multiple tables.
● Plan and run database migrations and schema updates safely.
Supabase development
● Work day-to-day in the Supabase dashboard to manage schema and configuration.
● Design and enforce security policies, including Row Level Security (RLS).
● Develop Supabase database functions.
● Work with Supabase's auto-generated REST APIs and endpoints.
Operational support
● Troubleshoot and resolve production database issues.
● Perform careful, controlled data corrections and updates.
● Support deployment activities.
● Help internal teams with backend-related requests.
What You’ll Work On
● The data layer behind our customer app and internal ops app – the Supabase/PostgreSQL foundation powering quotes, payments, project tracking, and role-based operations for 100+ internal users.
● Security and access control – RLS policies and permission logic that keep customer and business data safe across every role in the system.
● Automation and business logic in the database – functions and triggers that keep data consistent and drive workflows without manual effort.
● Reporting and analytics data – the queries, views, and structures that feed real-time dashboards for leadership and field teams.
● Integration data flows – the tables and logic behind payments, e-signing, telephony, and OTP/auth events flowing in from Easebuzz, Digio, Exotel, and more.
● Migrations and schema evolution – safely evolving a live production database as the product grows.
Our stack: Supabase (PostgreSQL, auth, edge functions) at the core, with FlutterFlow (frontend), Make.com (automation), and GCP (microservices) around it. You'll go deep on the database and touch the systems that connect to it.
