Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include
- Experience in auditing public real estate companies, including REITs
- Familiarity with accounting for rental income under ASC 842 straight-line rent, collectibility assessment
- Experience in performing a full audit of rental income producing properties
- Experience in auditing acquisitions of operating real estate, including testing the inputs into a purchase price allocation, dispositions of real estate, impairment.
- Working knowledge of relevant accounting standards per US GAAP e.g., ASC 842. ASC 606, ASC 360 etc.
- Understanding and experience of performing SOX 404 procedures.
- Proactive while communicating operational challenges to US teams regarding availability of team members, utilization of hours, actively seeking and providing feedback.
- Collaborate with engagement team staffs on client issue resolution and make recommendations for any legal, regulatory and accounting issues that arise during an audit engagement.
Skills
- Proficiency in US GAAP, GAAS, and PCAOB rules and standards.
- Robust skills in Microsoft Office tools.
- Excellent written and oral communications
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Strong people and project management skills
- Agile: Ability to adapt and accept challenging situations and tasks and perform with the utmost professionalism.
Education / Professional Experience/ Qualifications
- CA/CPA qualified
- Minimum 4 - 5 years of progressive audit experience in a medium to large public accounting firm or equivalent
- Big 4 experience a plus
