Primary Responsibilities Roles and Responsibilities post training:
Coding the medical record using the ICD-10 and PCS with desired accuracy as per SLA
Know and adhere to HIPAA regulations
Recognize, interpret and evaluate inconsistencies, discrepancies and inaccuracies in the medical data received and appropriately alert and/or query the responsible party and supervisor
Meet quality and productivity standards and deadlines/turnaround times
Reports a discharge disposition for all records as required and in accordance with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) rules and regulations For inpatient encounters, applies coding conventions and official coding guidelines approved by the American Hospital Association (AHA), and any other official rules and guidelines established for use with the mandated outpatient procedure code sets
Maintains the minimum data standards for accuracy and productivity as per defined KRAs/ Client SLAs
Comply with the terms and conditions of the employment contract, company policies and procedures,
and any and all directives (such as, but not limited to, transfer and/or re-assignment to different work locations, change in teams and/or work shifts, policies in regard to flexibility of work benefits and/or work environment, alternative work arrangements, and other decisions that may arise due to the changing business setting). The Company may adopt, vary or rescind these policies and directives in its absolute discretion and without any limitation (implied or otherwise) on its ability to do so Required Qualifications Graduate or Postgraduate in: Life Sciences, Allied Medicine (BHMS, BAMS, BPT, Dental Grads, Pharmacist, Nursing)
Should be a certified coder - AAPC / AHIMA - CCS/CPC/CPC-H/CCS-P
Proficient in Human Anatomy, Medical Terminology and Diagnosis coding
Good in English communication
High Analytical skills
