Mumbai

Background

We're a 25-year-old multi-brand watch retailer with 100+ stores across offline and online, and we're expanding into new areas — new categories, new services, new lines of business. This role is part of that work: helping take a new idea from research through to a plan we can actually launch.

You'll sit in the CEO's Office and report to our Entrepreneur-in-Residence, who leads this work. You'll work with the EIR day to day and with the CEO and senior leadership regularly, which means real exposure to how decisions get made early in your career.

What you'll be working on

New initiatives usually start undefined — a rough idea, a hunch about an opportunity, no clear answer yet.

Your job is to help figure it out: understand the market and the customer, work out whether the opportunity is real, and build the strategy and go-to-market plan to launch it. The specific area will change over time — one might be a new product category, another a new service, another a partnership — but the work is similar each time: research it properly, find the insight, and turn it into a plan.

It's hands-on work. Expect to spend time in spreadsheets, in stores, on calls with vendors, and building decks. There isn't a fixed playbook, so you'll need to be comfortable working things out as you go.

What you'll do

- Research, primary and secondary. Talk to customers, visit stores and talk to store teams, speak to vendors and partners, and dig through secondary sources — market data, category trends, what competitors are doing, and what's happening more broadly.
- Find the insight. Turn the research into a clear read on the market, the customer, and the opportunity — the base a strategy can be built on.
- Size the opportunity. Market sizing, unit economics, and a first-cut P&L; to judge whether it's worth doing and how big it could be.
- Build the strategy. A clear view on what to build,

who it's for, and how it wins.
- Build the GTM plan. The practical plan to get from zero to launch: positioning, pricing, channels, and the steps to go live.

What we're looking for

- 2–3 years in consumer brands — startups or MNCs (retail, D2C, FMCG, or similar preferred). Exposure to launching new categories or products, or a strategy background in a consumer business, would be ideal. Strong research skills, and someone who enjoys the digging — both primary (customers, stores, vendors) and secondary.
- A good instinct for branding and positioning — how a product or category should be positioned, and what makes it land with customers
- Creative and original — comes at problems from unexpected angles, not just the obvious playbook
- Analytical, and able to structure messy problems and form a clear point of view
- Good with Excel — comfortable building sizing, unit economics, and simple models
- Positive at presentations — can structure a story and build a clean deck
- Comfortable with ambiguity and working without a fixed brief
- Willing to do the hands-on legwork, not just the thinking
- A generalist who can move across functions and pick up new areas quickly

Why this role You'll be close to how new businesses actually get built here — doing the research, shaping the strategy, and helping get things off the ground, working directly with the person leading it. For someone early in their career, that's a rare amount of range: you'll see a lot of the business, get real ownership of your own pieces of work, and learn first-hand how an idea becomes something live. The areas will keep changing, so you'll pick up a lot quickly and rarely do the same thing twice.

If you like variety and want real responsibility early, this is a strong place to do it.

Where it goes from here depends on you. The people who do this well tend to grow into owning an initiative or area of their own.
