Role Description The Assistant Professor (Journalism and Mass Communication) will be responsible for teaching undergraduate and postgraduate courses, delivering lectures, leading practical sessions, and mentoring learners in areas related to journalism, media, and communication. The role includes designing and updating curricula, preparing lesson plans, evaluating assignments and examinations, and providing academic guidance and feedback.

The Assistant

Professor will engage in research, scholarly activities, and industry collaboration to enhance academic standards and stay current with developments in journalism and mass communication. Additional responsibilities include participation in departmental meetings, academic planning,



student projects, and co-curricular initiatives related to media and communication. This is a full-time, on-site role based at CT Group of Institutions in Jalandhar.

Qualifications

Strong foundation in Journalism and Mass Communication, with the ability to teach core journalism concepts and practices.

Skills in Broadcast Journalism and Broadcasting, enabling effective instruction in electronic media, news production, and on-air presentation.

Proficiency in Multimedia and digital media tools for content creation, editing, and distribution across multiple platforms.

Excellent Writing skills for news, features, scripts, and academic content, with an emphasis on accuracy, clarity, and ethical standards.

Recognized postgraduate degree (e.g., MA/MJMC) or doctoral qualification in Journalism, Mass Communication, or a closely related field, as per regulatory and accreditation norms.

Prior teaching, training, or industry experience in journalism, broadcasting, or media studies is highly desirable.

Ability to integrate practical projects, internships, and industry exposure into academic programs.

Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills, with a learner-centered and inclusive teaching approach.

Commitment to ongoing research, publication, and professional development in the fields of journalism and mass communication.
