Job Summary: The IT Buyer is responsible for managing the procurement of IT applications, information security solutions, hardware, infrastructure, cloud services, software licenses, and related technology services. This role partners closely with IT, Information Security, and business stakeholders to source, negotiate, and procure technology solutions that align with organizational requirements, budgets, and compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Sourcing

- Manage the end-to-end procurement lifecycle for IT software, hardware, cloud services, infrastructure, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Source and evaluate suppliers through RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, and competitive bidding processes.
- Conduct supplier evaluations based on cost, quality, technical capability, service levels, and risk.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, licensing models, maintenance agreements, and service contracts.
- Ensure timely purchase order creation, approvals, and order tracking.

IT Applications Procurement

- Procure enterprise software including SaaS, on-premises applications, business systems, productivity tools, and development software.
- Review software licensing models and optimize software spend.
- Coordinate software renewals and subscription management.
- Support software asset management initiatives.

Information Security Procurement

- Procure cybersecurity products and services including:
- Endpoint security
- Identity and Access Management (IAM)
- SIEM
- Firewall and network security
- Vulnerability management
- Data Loss Prevention (DLP)
- Security awareness platforms
- Managed Security Services (MSSP)
- Work with Information Security teams to ensure vendors meet security and compliance requirements.




- Coordinate vendor security assessments and documentation.

IT Infrastructure Procurement

- Procure servers, storage, networking equipment, virtualization platforms, backup solutions, cloud infrastructure, and data center equipment.
- Manage procurement for IT infrastructure projects and refresh programs.
- Coordinate with infrastructure teams to ensure compatibility with technical standards.

Vendor & Contract Management

- Build and maintain strategic relationships with IT suppliers.
- Lead commercial negotiations for contracts and renewals.
- Monitor supplier performance against KPIs and SLAs.
- Maintain accurate vendor records and contract repositories.
- Support vendor performance reviews and business reviews.

Financial & Cost Management

- Identify cost-saving opportunities through strategic sourcing and negotiations.
- Monitor procurement budgets and spending.
- Analyze Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) for IT investments.
- Support annual budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Prepare spend analysis and procurement reports.

Compliance & Governance

- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and procurement procedures.
- Support internal and external audits.
- Ensure contracts meet legal, regulatory, and cybersecurity requirements.
- Maintain procurement documentation and records.





Stakeholder Management

- Partner with IT, Cybersecurity and business units.
- Provide procurement guidance throughout technology projects.
- Support project teams with supplier selection and commercial evaluations.

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
- 10 years of experience in IT procurement, strategic sourcing, or technology purchasing.
- Experience procuring enterprise software, IT infrastructure, cloud services, and cybersecurity solutions.
- Robust understanding of IT procurement processes and vendor management.
- Experience negotiating technology contracts and software licensing agreements.

Preferred Qualifications

- CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, or equivalent procurement certification.
- Knowledge of ITIL, COBIT, or IT procurement best practices.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Coupa, Ariba, Ivalua, etc.).
- Familiarity with software asset management (SAM) tools.
- Understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks (ISO 27001, NIST, CIS Controls).
