Role & responsibilities
Position Summary The Assistant Manager/Manager Finance & Accounts is responsible for managing finance and accounting operations, ensuring statutory and tax compliance, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, audit management, and effective internal controls. The role also drives ERP-based financial processes, process improvements, automation initiatives, and collaborates with stakeholders to support business objectives while leading the finance team.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Accounting & Reporting
- Ensure accurate and timely accounting of all financial transactions in the ERP system.
- Oversee Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, General Ledger, Fixed Assets, Intercompany Accounting, and Period-End Close activities.
- Review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and schedules.
- Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing with appropriate reconciliations and supporting documentation.
- Monitor ledger scrutiny, balance sheet reconciliations, and closure of open items. Budgeting, Forecasting & MIS
- Coordinate the annual budgeting process across departments and entities.
- Review budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses and provide actionable insights to management.
- Prepare monthly MIS reports, management dashboards, cash flow reports, and business performance analyses.
- Track budget utilization and support over-budget approval processes.
Compliance & Taxation
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee GST, TDS, Income Tax, Qualified Tax, and other statutory
compliances.
- Review statutory returns, tax workings, reconciliations, and assessments.
- Coordinate with tax consultants and advisors on compliance and advisory matters.
Audit & Internal Controls
- Coordinate statutory audits, tax audits,
internal audits, concurrent audits, and other reviews.
- Ensure timely closure of audit observations and implementation of corrective actions.
- Strengthen financial controls, SOPs, and governance processes across functions.
- Monitor compliance with internal control and ITGC requirements.
Treasury & Banking
- Manage banking relationships and treasury operations.
- Oversee vendor payments, fund transfers, remittances, and cash flow
planning.
- Review investment of surplus funds, fixed deposits, and liquidity management activities.
- Ensure timely preparation and review of bank reconciliations. Process Improvement & Systems
- Drive automation and process improvement initiatives within Finance.
- Support ERP enhancements, workflow improvements, and system implementation projects.
- Leverage technology and AI-enabled solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and scalability of finance processes.
- Develop and monitor finance KPIs and service levels.
Stakeholder Management
- Liaise with banks, auditors, consultants, tax advisors, legal advisors, and service providers.
- Partner with business teams to provide financial guidance and decision support.
- Support senior management with financial analysis, presentations, and special projects.
Team Management
- Supervise and review the work of finance team members.
- Provide coaching, training, and performance feedback.
- Ensure adherence to timelines, quality standards, and departmental
objectives.
