1. Trial Planning & Execution
1. Plan and execute machine trials as per production plan and dispatch schedules.
2. Ensure all machines are trial-ready before commencement. Conduct pre-trial readiness reviews to improve trial success rates.
3. Achieve and sustain minimum 90% First Time Right (FTR) trial success.
4. Coordinate with Design, Assembly, Supply chain, Electrical, Automation, Quality, and Service teams for smooth execution of trials.
5. Monitor and ensure timely closure of trial observations and non-conformances.
6. Analyze trial failures / delays; identify root causes, take corrective and preventive actions to minimize repeat trials.
7. Develop and maintain trial standard operating procedures (SOPs), checklists, and best practices.
2. Manpower Management
1. Effectively manage a team of approximately 10 Operators + 10 Casuals
2. Plan and allocate daily manpower based on trial schedules and priorities.
3. Monitor manpower productivity and utilization. Prepare and maintain daily work allocation plans for operators and labour. Also, record daily downtime.
4. Identify skill gaps and conduct training and cross-functional skill development.
5. Maintain discipline, attendance, and performance standards within the team.
6. Analyze downtime data and implement actions to reduce losses and improve equipment availability.
7. Control and optimize manpower costs, including Casual labour cost Overtime (OT) cost.
3. Trial Time Measurement & Productivity Improvement
- Measure and record trial time and manpower requirement for every machine and machine type.
- Establish machine-wise trial time standards and benchmarks.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to achieve minimum 20% annual reduction in trial time.
- Improve trial bay productivity through systematic process improvements.
- Reduce machine idle time, trial setup time, and waiting time.
4. Continuous Improvement
- Track and report cost-saving initiatives and productivity improvements.
- Lead improvement projects using tools such as Kaizen, 5S, PDCA, Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Poka-Yoke, Value Stream Mapping (VSM)
- Standardize successful improvements across the trial bay.
5. Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure protected trial bay operations and compliance with company safety standards.
- Conduct regular safety audits along with HR and risk assessments.
6. Factory Acceptance Trial (FAT) Management
- Plan, coordinate, and execute Factory Acceptance Trials (FAT) for machines before dispatch.
- Ensure FAT readiness by confirming completion of machine in all respect.
- Lead customer demonstrations during FAT and effectively address technical queries and concerns.
- Facilitate closure of FAT observations and punch points within committed timelines.
- Drive first-time FAT approval and minimize repeat FATs.
- Analyze FAT failures and customer observations to improve future machine performance and trial processes
