As a Computer Operator you will be on the technical frontline - performing batch operations as per service agreements, analyzing first-level issues across systems, and resolving/routing issues as appropriate. You will also have the chance to develop support system management processes specific to customer requirements, ensuring that we provide the highest level of service to our customers.
Responsibilities
- Lead and oversee daily operations for Mainframe batch/console operations, Mainframe Technical Support, and iSeries operations.
- Provide technical guidance and operational direction to the operations team across MF, Tech, iSeries, and MRO environments.
- Manage daily, weekly, and shift-based work schedules and ensure adequate operational coverage.
- Coordinate staffing and operational responsibilities for batch streams and LPAR coverage.
- Provide operational leadership during Sev1 and Sev2 incidents as the primary operations focal point.
- Drive SWAT calls and lead operational issue resolution activities through completion.
- Conduct daily operations status meetings and morning turnover calls.
- Attend and actively participate in all operational and change management calls.
Requirements
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- 4 to 5 years of experience in As400 and Mainframe Operations
- Experience with scheduling software, reporting, and logging
- Proficient with Operating Systems (Windows or Mac)
Preferred Technical and Professional Experience
- Experience supporting financial services or enterprise production environments.
- Familiarity with QMX, SharePoint, IPC tools, VDI environments, and operational governance processes.
- Experience presenting operational reviews and RCA findings to senior leadership.
- Experience with Troubleshooting, Backup/Recovery and Basic Networking
