About The Role

What if your expertise in quantum mechanics, electrodynamics, and thermodynamics could directly shape how AI understands the physical world We're looking for PhD-level Applied Physicists to stress-test cutting-edge AI models — exposing the gaps in their physical reasoning and helping ensure they respect the fundamental laws that govern our universe.

This is a fully remote, adaptable contract role built for working researchers and academics. No prior AI experience needed — just deep domain expertise and a rigorous analytical mind.

What You'll Do

- Design Advanced Physics Problems — Craft challenging, open-ended problems at PhD qualifying exam level, requiring multi-step logical reasoning and mathematical derivation across topics like quantum mechanics, electromagnetism, and thermodynamics

- Author Rigorous Model Solutions — Develop precise, step-by-step golden responses that serve as ground-truth benchmarks, with flawless handling of physical constants, units, and derivations

- Audit AI Reasoning — Evaluate AI-generated simulations, proofs, and explanations for physical consistency, identifying where models hallucinate results that violate first principles

- Refine Physics-Informed AI — Provide structured, expert feedback to improve how models reason about boundary conditions, conservation laws, symmetry,



and physical constraints

Who You Are

- PhD completed or in final stages in Applied Physics, Physics, Engineering Physics, or a closely related field

- Deep mastery across the core pillars of physics: Classical Mechanics, Electrodynamics, Statistical Mechanics, and Quantum Mechanics

- Exceptional ability to communicate complex physical phenomena and mathematical derivations in clear, structured English

- Uncompromising attention to detail — units, scientific notation, and logical proof flow matter to you

- Self-directed and comfortable working independently in a fully asynchronous environment

- No prior AI or machine learning experience required

Nice to Have

- Experience with data annotation, dataset quality evaluation, or scientific benchmarking

- Proficiency with computational tools such as MATLAB, COMSOL, Python (NumPy/SciPy), or similar

- Background in academic research, teaching, or scientific writing
