Job Purpose To conduct customer due diligence and KYC reviews for SME Banking and Institutional Banking clients, ensuring compliance with AML regulations, internal policies, and regulatory requirements. The role is responsible for identifying and mitigating financial crime, regulatory, and reputational risks while supporting efficient client onboarding and periodic reviews.
Key Accountabilities
Conduct KYC, CDD, and EDD reviews for new and existing customers in accordance with regulatory and bank policies.
Assess customer risk profiles by reviewing client information, financial statements, ownership structures, and supporting documentation.
Ensure timely completion and accuracy of KYC documentation, onboarding reviews, remediation activities, and periodic reviews.
Identify, investigate, and escalate potential AML, sanctions, financial crime, or regulatory concerns.
Partner with Relationship Managers, Compliance, Legal, Operations, and other stakeholders to resolve KYC-related issues.
Maintain complete and accurate customer records and documentation to support audit and regulatory requirements.
Monitor regulatory developments and ensure adherence to AML, KYC, FATCA, CRS, and other applicable compliance requirements.
Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and compliance monitoring activities.
Drive continuous process improvements to enhance efficiency and control effectiveness within the KYC function.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Conduct thorough Know Your Customer (KYC) reviews and due diligence on prospective and existing clients within the SME Banking and Institutional Banking Group
Analyse client information, financial data, and other relevant documents to assess risk and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including relationship managers and compliance officers, to identify and mitigate potential risks
Stay up to date with the latest regulatory changes and industry best practices related to KYC and anti-money laundering (AML) procedures
Provide guidance and support to relationship managers and clients on KYC and AML-related matters
Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of client information and KYC documentation
Requirements
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the banking or financial services industry
Minimum 3-5 years of experience in KYC, AML, Financial Crime Compliance, Client Onboarding, or Regulatory Compliance within Banking or Financial Services.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and assess risks
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and cross-functional teams
Thorough understanding of KYC, AML, and other relevant regulatory requirements
Proficient in using relevant software and technology tools to manage client information and documentation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Education / Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
