To lead and oversee all Human Resources (HR) and Industrial Relations (IR) functions at the site level, fostering a productive and harmonious work environment while ensuring statutory and labor law compliance. The role is responsible for effective workforce management, employee engagement, industrial harmony, and alignment of people strategies with organizational objectives to support operational excellence, productivity, and sustainable business growth.
Profile Description
Key Responsibilities
1. Site HR activities
- Lead end-to-end HR operations at the site, including manpower planning, recruitment, onboarding, attendance management, payroll coordination, and employee lifecycle processes.
- Ensure timely fulfillment of manpower requirements aligned with production plans and operational demands.
- Monitor HR budgets, manpower costs, overtime, and productivity metrics to drive operational efficiency.
- Maintain accurate HR records, reports, and workforce analytics for management review.

2. Industrial Relations (IR)
- Build and maintain harmonious industrial relations with associates, operators, and workforce representatives.
- Manage employee grievances, disciplinary actions, misconduct cases, domestic inquiries, and conflict resolution processes.
- Support employee engagement initiatives to foster a positive work environment and improve productivity.
- Collaborate with site leadership to proactively address workforce concerns and minimize industrial disruptions.
3. Statutory Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all applicable labor laws, statutory regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain statutory registers, records, licenses, and documentation, and coordinate internal/external compliance audits.
- Liaise with labor authorities, government agencies, and regulatory bodies on compliance-related matters.
- Oversee contractor compliance, including documentation, audits, and adherence to legal requirements.
4. Employee Engagement & Welfare
- Design and implement employee engagement programs to improve morale, motivation, and retention.
- Drive welfare initiatives, health and safety programs, employee wellbeing activities, and CSR initiatives.
- Promote a positive workplace culture aligned with organizational values.
- Address employee concerns effectively and ensure timely resolution of workplace issues
5. Performance & Capability Management
- Implement and monitor performance management processes for plant employees.
- Identify training and development needs and facilitate capability-building initiatives.
- Support succession planning, talent development, and leadership pipeline creation at the site level.
- Drive continuous learning and skill enhancement to improve workforce effectiveness

Contract Labour Management
- Manage contract workforce deployment, productivity, attendance, and performance.
- Monitor contractor adherence to company policies, safety standards, and legal requirements.
- Optimize contract labor utilization to enhance efficiency and control costs.
7. HR Strategy & Business Partnering
- Partner with site leadership to align HR initiatives with business objectives and operational priorities.
- Provide strategic HR support to improve workforce productivity, engagement, and organizational effectiveness.
- Drive manpower rationalization, cost optimization, and productivity improvement initiatives.
- Use HR analytics and workforce insights to support decision-making and business growth.

Qualification Graduate/Postgraduate in HR, IR, or MSW preferred.
15+ years of experience in HR & IR, preferably from Project background.
Strong experience of handling large scale projects and statutory compliance
