Role Description The Accountant will manage day-to-day financial operations for a private law firm (Advocate & Consultancies) on a full-time, on-site basis in New Delhi.

Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining ledgers, journals, and vouchers; recording client billing, fee receipts, and case-related expenses; and performing daily bank reconciliations and cash flow tracking. The role involves preparing and reviewing invoices, monitoring accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring accurate and timely entry of all financial transactions. The Accountant will assist with monthly and annual closing, preparation of financial statements, and compliance with applicable tax and regulatory requirements.

The role also includes coordinating with partners, associates, and external auditors, maintaining organized financial records, and supporting management with reports, budgets, and other financial analysis as needed.

Qualifications Strong knowledge of accounting principles, bookkeeping practices, and financial reporting.

Experience with accounting software and MS Excel,



including spreadsheets, reconciliations, and basic data analysis.

Ability to manage client billing, accounts payable/receivable, and cash/bank transactions with accuracy and attention to detail.

Understanding of taxation, statutory compliance, and regulatory requirements relevant to professional services firms.

Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple matters and meet deadlines.

Effective written and verbal communication skills for coordination with legal professionals, clients, and auditors.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in an office environment, maintaining confidentiality and professional ethics.

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, Finance, or a related field; qualified certifications (e.g., CA Inter, CMA Inter) are an advantage.

Prior experience in a law firm, consulting firm, or professional services environment is preferred.
