A Logistics Accountant manages the financial aspects of a company’s supply chain, focusing on tracking, analyzing, and reporting costs related to transportation, warehousing, inventory, and freight. They ensure accurate cost allocation, manage payables/receivables, handle tax compliance (customs/VAT), and optimize financial efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Cost Analysis & Reporting: Analyze logistics expenditures, including 3PL, packaging, and freight costs, preparing monthly financial reports and budgets.

- Accounts Payable/Receivable: Manage carrier payments, vendor reconciliations, and customer invoicing to maintain positive cash flow.

- Inventory Valuation: Monitor and value inventory, ensuring accuracy in stock management and warehouse records.

- Compliance & Tax: Ensure compliance with local and international regulations, including VAT and customs duties.

- Process Improvement: Identify potential cost savings and improve financial efficiency in the supply chain.

- Internal Controls:



Perform internal audits of stock at warehouses and 3PL sites.

Required Qualifications & Skills

- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field.

- Experience: Previous experience in logistics, transportation, or supply chain accounting, often with experience using ERP systems like SAP or Syspro.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel and Tally.

- Key Skills: Solid analytical skills, attention to detail, knowledge of accounting principles, and ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
