Job Title: Business Development Representative, Retail & Wholesale

Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Pacific Time

Reports To: Founder / Sales Lead / Assigned Team Lead

Role Overview

The company is looking for a highly motivated, organized, and proactive Business Development Representative to help grow its wholesale and retail distribution network.

This role is focused on identifying, prospecting, contacting, and developing relationships with retailers who may be a strong fit for the company’s products, including independent retailers, specialty stores, regional chains, marketplace partners, and larger national retail opportunities.

This is not a passive sales support role. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can build prospect lists, find the right decision-makers, conduct outbound outreach, manage follow-ups, schedule and support buyer meetings, present the product opportunity, and help move qualified retailers through the sales and onboarding process.

The right person will be comfortable using CRM and sales organization tools such as HubSpot, Go High Level, Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, or similar platforms. They should be highly organized, disciplined with follow-up, and capable of managing a growing pipeline of retailer opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

1. Retail Prospecting & Lead Generation

Research and identify potential retail partners for the company’s products, including:

- Independent sleep stores
- Furniture stores
- Gift shops
- Travel retailers
- Airport retailers
- Boutiques
- Specialty retailers
- Regional chains
- National retailers
- Online retailers and marketplaces
- Identify qualified decision-makers, including buyers, category managers, owners, purchasing managers, and retail executives.
- Build and maintain targeted prospect lists by retailer type, geography, size, product fit, and sales prospect.
- Use tools such as HubSpot, Apollo, LinkedIn, Google, retailer directories, trade show lists, and other lead generation sources to find qualified prospects.

2. Outbound Sales Outreach

- Conduct outbound calls, emails, LinkedIn outreach, and follow-up sequences to prospective retail buyers and partners.
- Manage high-volume outbound activity while maintaining skilled, personalized communication.
- Introduce the company, communicate the product opportunity, and generate interest in carrying the company’s products.
- Book introductory calls, Zoom meetings, and follow-up conversations with qualified retailers.
- Maintain a consistent outreach cadence and ensure no qualified prospect falls through the cracks.

3. Product Presentation & Sales Development

- Present the company’s products, brand story, value proposition, customer appeal, and retail opportunity.
- Send product sell sheets, pricing, wholesale information, samples, product videos, brand assets, and other sales materials to interested prospects.
- Answer basic product, wholesale, pricing, minimum order, shipping, and onboarding questions.
- Help prepare prospects for meetings with the founder, sales lead, or senior team when needed.




- Support the sales process from first contact through qualified chance, sample request, buyer meeting, and opening order.

4. CRM & Pipeline Management

- Accurately input, update, and manage all prospect and retailer information inside the company’s CRM.
- Track all calls, emails, meetings, follow-ups, notes, lead status, next steps, and opportunity stages.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and current sales pipeline.
- Use CRM tools such as HubSpot, Go High Level, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Apollo, or similar platforms to manage daily activity.
- Create reminders, follow-up tasks, pipeline notes, and reporting dashboards as needed.

5. Retailer Follow-Up & Relationship Management

- Perform timely and persistent follow-up with prospective retailers.
- Nurture interested accounts over time through organized, professional communication.
- Ensure retailers receive the information they need to evaluate the company’s products.
- Follow up on sample shipments, buyer questions, pricing discussions, onboarding documents, and opening order opportunities.
- Escalate qualified opportunities, large accounts, national retailer interest, or complex questions to the appropriate senior team member.

6. Wholesale Onboarding Support

- Help interested retailers move through the wholesale onboarding process.
- Send onboarding documents, wholesale forms, starter kit information, pricing sheets, product information, and support links.
- Coordinate documents through tools such as PandaDoc, DocuSign, HubSpot, or similar systems.
- Help make the onboarding process simple, professional, and easy for retailers.
- Support retailers through the initial setup process, including account setup, sample coordination, opening order support, and sales material delivery.

7. Reporting & Accountability

Prepare daily and weekly activity reports covering:

- Calls completed
- Emails sent
- Retailers contacted
- New leads added
- Follow-ups completed
- Meetings scheduled
- Meetings completed
- Samples requested
- Qualified opportunities created
- Retailers moved through onboarding
- Opening orders generated or pending
- Provide visibility into pipeline progress, conversion activity, and opportunities that require additional support.
- Help identify what outreach messaging, retailer categories, and sales approaches are working best.

8. Process Building & Sales Organization

- Help build repeatable outbound sales processes as the company grows.
- Recommend improvements to CRM organization, prospecting workflows, outreach templates, follow-up sequences, and reporting.
- Help create structure around wholesale sales activity.
- Maintain organized files, contact lists,



sales documents, retailer notes, and process documentation.

Required Skills & Experience

- Previous experience in business development, wholesale sales, retail sales, outbound sales, sales development, appointment setting, lead generation, or account development.
- Solid verbal and written communication skills.
- Comfortable making outbound calls and engaging professionally with business owners, buyers, and retail decision-makers.
- Highly organized and disciplined with follow-up.
- Experience using CRM or sales organization tools such as HubSpot, Go High Level, Salesforce, Pipedrive, Apollo, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with lead generation tools such as Apollo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Google, retail directories, or similar sources.
- Ability to research companies, identify decision-makers, qualify prospects, and manage next steps.
- Comfortable conducting or supporting Zoom meetings and presenting product information.
- Proficiency with email, spreadsheets, Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and basic sales reporting.
- Able to work independently, take initiative, and stay accountable to daily and weekly sales activity goals.

Preferred Experience

- Experience selling consumer products to retailers.
- Experience with wholesale, retail buying, vendor onboarding, or B2B sales.
- Experience selling into sleep, bedding, home goods, furniture, travel, gift, lifestyle, baby/kids, wellness, or specialty retail categories.
- Experience with trade shows, buyer outreach, wholesale portals, or retail account setup.
- Experience using PandaDoc, DocuSign, Shopify, Faire, wholesale platforms, or marketplace portals.
- Experience creating or improving sales outreach templates, CRM workflows, and follow-up systems.

- Opening orders generated or supported
- Accuracy and completeness of CRM records
- Timely follow-up with all active prospects
- Clear daily and weekly reporting
- Contribution to building the company’s wholesale and retail sales pipeline

Pay: ₹35,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
