Job Summary

The Mechanical Engineer is responsible for the design, engineering, coordination, execution, and commissioning of mechanical systems for MEP EPC projects. The role involves ensuring that HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and other mechanical installations are executed in accordance with project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, safety regulations, and project schedules.

Key ResponsibilitiesEngineering & Design

- Prepare and review HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and utility system designs.
- Develop equipment selection, calculations, layouts, and technical specifications.
- Review engineering drawings, shop drawings, and coordinated MEP layouts.
- Ensure compliance with client requirements, local regulations, and international standards.
- Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, and other engineering disciplines.

Project Execution

- Monitor mechanical installation activities at project sites.
- Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients.
- Track project progress and resolve technical issues during execution.
- Support procurement by reviewing technical submittals and material approvals.

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

- Prepare technical specifications for material procurement.
- Evaluate vendor quotations and recommend suitable products.




- Review manufacturers' technical documents and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Coordinate delivery schedules with procurement and project teams.

Quality & Safety

- Ensure compliance with quality management procedures.
- Conduct inspections of mechanical installations.
- Support testing, commissioning, and handing-over activities.
- Follow all HSE policies and promote secure work practices.

Testing & Commissioning

- Participate in testing and commissioning of HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems.
- Coordinate with commissioning teams to resolve technical issues.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree / Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
- Professional certification in MEP or project management is an advantage.

Experience

- 3–5 years of experience in MEP EPC projects.
- Experience in HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, piping and mechanical services execution.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Familiarity with HVAC load calculation software (HAP, Carrier HAP, or equivalent).
- Understanding of project scheduling tools such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
- Knowledge of BOQ preparation, estimation, and tender documentation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.

Working Conditions

- Office and project site-based role.
- Willingness to travel to project locations as required.
