Qualification

- B.E./B.Tech in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years of relevant HSE experience in industrial projects.
- OR
- B.Sc. (Science) or Diploma in Engineering with a minimum of 8 years of relevant HSE experience in industrial projects.
- Additional qualifications such as NEBOSH IGC, IOSH, OSHA, or equivalent HSE certifications are preferred.Job Summary

The HSE Engineer is responsible for implementing and monitoring Health, Safety, and Environmental management systems at project sites to ensure compliance with client requirements, statutory regulations, and company HSE policies. The role involves promoting a strong safety culture, minimizing workplace risks, and ensuring safe execution of all project activities.

Key Responsibilities

- Implement project HSE plans, procedures, and client safety requirements.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and unsafe conditions.
- Perform risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and Hazard Identification (HIRA).
- Ensure compliance with applicable legal, client, and company HSE standards.
- Conduct safety inductions, toolbox talks, and awareness training for employees and contractors.
- Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, confined space entry, lifting operations, excavation, electrical work, and hot work.
- Issue, monitor, and audit Permit to Work (PTW) systems.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences; prepare reports and recommend corrective and preventive actions.




- Ensure proper use and availability of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct emergency preparedness drills and participate in emergency response activities.
- Maintain HSE records, inspection reports, statutory documentation, and monthly HSE performance reports.
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and project management on HSE-related matters.
- Monitor environmental compliance, including waste management, pollution prevention, and housekeeping.
- Support internal and external HSE audits and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
- Promote continual improvement in safety performance through proactive initiatives and employee engagement.

Required Skills

- Solid knowledge of industrial HSE standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.
- Good understanding of statutory safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to conduct incident investigations and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HSE reporting tools.
- Ability to work independently in a multidisciplinary project environment.

Preferred Experience

- Experience in EPC, refinery, petrochemical, chemical, power plant, steel plant, or other large industrial construction projects.
- Exposure to client safety standards and contractor safety management.
- Experience in implementing behavior-based safety initiatives is an added advantage.
