- 3D modelling and 2D drafting/detailing of mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
- Understand requirements, perform basic design calculations, create design concepts.
- Perform DFMEA
- Creation of BOM for the product design including bought out and manufactured components
- Perform tolerance stack-up calculations (Dimensional Variation Analysis).
- Assess design concepts for manufacturability, assembly, and service in coordination with cross-functional team and suppliers.
- Interface with simulation team for getting analytical verification and optimization of design done.
- To execute project efficiently, timely and maintaining quality.
- Provide solutions on design related problems proactively.
- Participate in internal meetings, suggest solutions to resolve design related problems.
Experience and Skills Required:
- Strong understanding of engineering fundamentals.
- Strong expertise in creating detailed 3D CAD models and manufacturing drawings components and assemblies.
- Creative and having good visualization skills.
- Knowledge of casting design and manufacturing practices, process selection, cast component design optimization and surface treatment processes.
- Exposure to component/part manufacturing and coordination with suppliers for part development and production
- Good understanding of manufacturing processes such as Sheetmetal, forging, and machining.
- Good understanding of Design for manufacturing and Assembly (DFMA) requirements.
- Good understanding of Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;).
- Exposure to tolerance stack-up calculations.
- Valuable verbal and written communication skills.
- The ability to work as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills. Good skills in MS-Office tools.
