LiDAR Engineer – MLS / ALS

Role: LiDAR Production Engineer

We are looking for a technically strong and production-focused LiDAR Engineer with hands-on experience in Mobile LiDAR (MLS) and Airborne LiDAR (ALS) data processing. The candidate should have strong expertise in point cloud classification, MicroStation and LiDAR production workflows, with the ability to understand project specifications and consistently meet daily production targets with required quality.

Roles & Responsibilities

- Perform end-to-end MLS and ALS LiDAR data processing as per project requirements.
- Strong hands-on experience in LiDAR Point Cloud Classification.
- Perform Ground / Non-Ground classification, Vegetation, Buildings, Roads and other required feature classifications.
- Perform noise removal, point cloud cleaning and manual classification/editing.
- Understand client Scope of Work (SOW), project specifications, classification requirements and deliverables before starting production.
- Work independently on assigned production tasks with minimal supervision.
- Achieve assigned daily production targets and project deadlines.
- Maintain required accuracy and quality while meeting productivity targets.
- Perform self-QC before submitting completed work to the Team Lead/QC team.
- Identify classification errors, data gaps and other technical issues during processing.
- Rework and correct QC observations within the required turnaround time.
- Escalate technical issues or production challenges to the Team Lead at an early stage.
- Maintain project-specific folder structures, file naming and data management standards.
- Follow defined production workflows, QC checklists and project guidelines.

Technical Skills

- Strong experience in Mobile LiDAR (MLS) processing.
- Strong experience in Airborne LiDAR (ALS) processing.
- Excellent knowledge of Point Cloud Classification.
- Ground / Non-Ground Classification.




- Building and Vegetation Classification.
- Road and Corridor Classification.
- Noise / Outlier Removal.
- DTM / DSM / DEM generation.
- Contour and Breakline generation.
- Basic understanding of 2D/3D Feature Extraction.
- Understanding of LAS/LAZ and other LiDAR/geospatial formats.
- Good understanding of coordinate systems, projections and LiDAR data accuracy.
- Ability to understand project-specific classification codes and client standards.

Software Skills

MicroStation – Strong proficiency is mandatory.

Hands-on experience with:

- MicroStation
- TerraScan / TerraSolid
- TerraMatch / TerraModeler – added advantage
- Global Mapper
- ArcGIS / QGIS
- CloudCompare or similar point cloud tools

Experience & Qualification

- 2–4 years of hands-on experience in LiDAR data processing.
- Practical project experience in MLS and/or ALS projects is mandatory.
- Diploma / Bachelor's / Master's in GIS, Geoinformatics, Remote Sensing, Civil Engineering, Surveying, Geography or related field.

Key Expectation

This is primarily a LiDAR production role. We are looking for candidates who are technically strong, particularly in MLS/ALS classification and MicroStation, and who can understand project requirements, work independently, maintain quality and consistently achieve committed daily production targets.

Pay: ₹250,000.00 - ₹350,000.00 per year
