Purchase Executive – Pharmaceutical Industry

Job Summary

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to join our pharmaceutical team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in pharmaceutical procurement, vendor management, and raw material purchasing. This role requires excellent negotiation skills and the ability to ensure timely procurement while maintaining quality and cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Procure APIs, excipients, formulations, raw materials, and packaging materials.
- Identify, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best pricing and quality.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors.
- Generate Purchase Orders (POs) and track order status until delivery.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with stores and production teams.
- Compare quotations and conduct cost analysis for procurement decisions.
- Maintain procurement records, vendor documentation, and compliance records.
- Coordinate with QA/QC and production departments for material approvals.




- Work efficiently on ERP/SAP or other inventory management systems.
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies and pharmaceutical industry standards.

Required Skills

- Experience in pharmaceutical procurement.
- Knowledge of API, formulations, raw materials, and packaging materials.
- Vendor development and negotiation skills.
- Inventory management and material planning.
- Working knowledge of ERP/SAP software.
- Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.

Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Science, Commerce, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of relevant experience in pharmaceutical purchasing.

Preferred Candidate

- Experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing companies.
- Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
- Able to work independently and meet procurement deadlines.
