Faculty

The university believes that development education, research and policy draw their strengths from both academic studies and reflective on ground practice. In that spirit, our faculty are drawn from both academia and the development sector and engage in collaborative teaching, research, public writing and policy work.

Suitably qualified applicants from academia as well as experienced practitioners are encouraged to apply. We are particularly interested in candidates with academic or practice experience in the following thematic areas in rural or urban settings in the Indian context:

- Development theories and histories
- Technology and development
- Gender in development
- Adivasi concerns
- Forest rights and forest-based livelihoods

Requirements

- Trained in development studies or related disciplines.
- Reflective mindset with strong critical thinking skills.
- Solid oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively.




- Willingness to engage with a very diverse and large student body.
- Experience in ground-up policy development is desirable.
- For academics, an advanced degree in a relevant field.
- For experienced practitioners, at least ten years of on-the-ground experience and post-graduate degree in any field.
