- Drafting Plans: Draw accurate 2D site plans, floor plans, grading layouts, and cross-sections using AutoCAD or similar tools.
- Reviewing Data: Check rough sketches, field notes, and engineer notes to make sure drawings are correct.
- Following Rules: Make sure all designs match local building codes and safety laws.
- Working in Teams: Talk with project engineers and other designers to fix any drawing errors before building starts.
- Updating Files: Keep clear records of all drawing updates and design changes.

Job Requirements

- Education: High school diploma plus a drafting certificate, or an associate degree in civil drafting, engineering, or a related field.
- Software Skills: Strong skill in 2D drafting software like AutoCAD.
- Attention to Detail: Ability to read complex engineering plans and spot small mistakes.
- Communication: Positive verbal and written skills to work well with project teams.
