Category Buying - For General Merchandising Department (Home Appliances,Stationery,Toys,Electrical,Crockery,Steel,Plastics,Bed& Bath,Footwear)

Job Description

The role holder will be responsible for Vendor Sourcing and Management i.e. sourcing new vendors, onboarding the new vendors, scheduling, Buying / ordering, ensuring on time payments, Debits to vendors as per process, Product Development (GM), etc. Simultaneously, he / she will need to manage working relationships with existing vendors.

The role holder will be responsible for managing the assigned Category and for related product / merchandise selection. The responsibilities will include the following:
Identifying products, offers and negotiating the best rates
Analysis of consumption patterns across various geographies
Ensuring profitable growth for the categories
Inventory Control
Conduct Competition benchmarking and market visits. Data analysis,



planning and forecasting, Sales growth, product enhancement, product lifecycle management

Will need to prepare and present reports. Will be required to travel.

Who can apply

Ideal candidate would be someone from FMCG (Sales GT background) / General Merchandising Product base industry (sales backround)with good understanding of Category.

Skills needed

Communication, negotiation, planning, delegation, co-ordination, follow up and team Handling skills. He / She will be required to maintain good working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders, hence valuable interpersonal skills are needed. Must be good with related processes and proficiency in excel is a must
