Tool Maintenance & Development

- Maintain and repair press tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, molds, and special-purpose tooling.
- Perform preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance of all production tools.
- Manufacture new tooling as per engineering drawings and customer requirements.
- Modify existing tools to improve productivity and reduce rejection.
- Ensure proper fitting, assembly, and testing of tools before production release.

Production Support

- Provide immediate support during production breakdowns related to tooling.
- Ensure minimum machine downtime by timely repair and replacement of damaged tools.
- Coordinate with production teams for tool trials and validation.
- Analyze recurring tool failures and implement corrective actions.

Process Improvement

- Identify opportunities for cost reduction through tool life improvement.
- Optimize machining parameters and tooling practices.
- Recommend design modifications for improved manufacturability.
- Support implementation of Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, and Continuous Improvement initiatives.

Machine Operations

- Operate and supervise conventional tool room machines including:
- Milling Machine
- Lathe Machine
- Surface Grinder
- Cylindrical Grinder
- Radial Drill Machine
- Tool & Cutter Grinder
- CNC Milling/CNC Turning (where applicable)

Inspection & Quality

- Inspect tools using precision measuring instruments.




- Ensure dimensional accuracy as per engineering drawings.
- Maintain required tolerances and surface finish.
- Support internal quality audits and customer requirements.

Documentation

- Maintain tool history cards and maintenance records.
- Prepare preventive maintenance schedules.
- Update tool inventory and spare parts records.
- Prepare breakdown analysis and improvement reports.

Safety & Compliance

- Follow all safety procedures while operating tool room equipment.
- Ensure proper handling and storage of tools.
- Maintain housekeeping standards as per 5S.
- Comply with ISO/IATF 16949, Environmental, and Safety Management Systems.

Required Skills

- Robust knowledge of press tools, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and dies.
- Expertise in conventional machining processes.
- Knowledge of CNC machining and tool setting.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and GD&T.;
- Understanding of cutting tools and tool materials.
- Knowledge of heat treatment and tool steels.
- Familiarity with precision measuring instruments.
- Root Cause Analysis (RCA), Why-Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram.
- Knowledge of TPM, Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, and 5S.
- Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication and teamwork.

Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹40,000.00 per month
