Programme: City Accelerator Program in partnership with MNRE (Ministry of New and Renewable Energy)

Background:

iFOREST is supporting MNRE (Ministry of Renewable Energy) in implementing the City Accelerator Program under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, aimed at scaling rooftop solar (RTS) adoption in urban areas. As part of this initiative, the following cities in Assam and Odisha have been selected- Assam: (Johrat, Tinsukia, Dhimaji, Golaghat, Cachar)

Odisha:- (Jaypore, Raurkela, Jharsuguda, Balangir)

Position Summary:

We are seeking agile professionals to serve as City Anchors, each based in one of the selected cities. The anchors will act as key coordinators for the program implementation at the city level and will facilitate stakeholder engagement, adoption of RTS systems, and local capacity building.

Key Responsibilities:

a. Coordinate among state, and city-level stakeholders to ensure smooth program implementation.

b. Promote and facilitate rooftop solar (RTS) adoption through community engagement, demand aggregation, and support to consumers and vendors.

c. Develop and maintain dashboards, Management Information System (MIS) reports, and periodic updates for MNRE and partner agencies.

d. Organize and support city-level capacity building, IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) campaigns,



and establish grievance redressal systems.

e. Collect feedback on policy and identify regulatory and operational bottlenecks.

f. Maintain close coordination with the central RTS Cell and ensure alignment with state guidelines and best practices.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Energy, Environment, Public Policy, Urban Development, or related fields.

Positions:

- Program Associate – Minimum 3–5 years of experience in project implementation, stakeholder management, or renewable energy programs.

- Lead/ Sr. Programme Associate – 5 – 8 yrs experience

- Strong communication and coordination skills; fluency in English, Hindi, Odiya, Assamese preferred.

- Experience in preparing reports, dashboards, and policy briefs.

- Ability to work independently in a city-based setup and engage with diverse stakeholders.

Duration: Contractual position (initially for 1 year, extendable based on performance and project requirements)

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and as per organizational norms
