Job Summary
This role is accountable for overseeing the performance and reliability of DB2 z/OS mainframe environments, driving strategic improvements in operational processes, and ensuring optimal database performance to meet stringent client requirements. The position empowers teams through expert technical guidance, fosters a culture of innovation, and ensures continuous alignment with service level objectives.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead performance tuning and optimization initiatives for DB2 z/OS environments using advanced mainframe monitoring tools, ensuring optimal system throughput and minimal downtime.
2. Direct root cause analysis and resolution of complex DB2 system issues, leveraging mainframe diagnostics and performance metrics to maintain high service availability.
3. Oversee and enhance operational DB2 backup, recovery, and disaster recovery strategies, utilizing DB2 utilities and automation tools to ensure data integrity and compliance.
4. Mentor and guide support teams in DB2 z/OS best practices, fostering technical growth and ensuring knowledge transfer on advanced performance tuning methodologies.
5. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to interpret client requirements, translate them into actionable DB2 system improvements, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
6. Drive process innovation by evaluating and implementing new DB2 tools, automation solutions,



and performance monitoring techniques for continuous improvement.
7. Ensure adherence to client SLAs by proactively monitoring DB2 system health and generating management reports through advanced analytics platforms.
8. Provide expert recommendations for database architecture changes, index strategies, and SQL optimization to support evolving business needs.
Skill Requirements
1. Advanced Knowledge Of Mainframe Operations And System Utilities
