Job Summary

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Design Engineer – Mechanical with strong experience in machine manufacturing and Special Purpose Machine (SPM) design. The ideal candidate will be responsible for leading mechanical design projects from concept through commissioning while delivering innovative, reliable, and cost-effective engineering solutions.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead the mechanical design and development of industrial machinery and Special Purpose Machines (SPMs).
- Create 3D models, assemblies, and detailed manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks, Creo, or AutoCAD.
- Perform engineering calculations, tolerance analysis, material selection, and design validation.
- Ensure designs meet functionality, safety, quality, and manufacturability requirements.
- Collaborate with production, electrical, and automation teams for successful project execution.
- Conduct design reviews, FMEA, DFMA, DFS, and risk assessments.
- Support prototype development, machine assembly, testing, and commissioning.
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior design engineers.
- Continuously improve designs by adopting new technologies and engineering best practices.

Mandatory Skills

Candidates must have hands-on experience in:

- Ball Screw selection and application
- Linear Motion (LM) Rails
- Servo Motor selection and sizing
- Mechanical design calculations
- Custom Machine Design / SPM Design




- GD&T; and engineering drawing standards

Required Qualifications

- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master's preferred).
- 6–10 years of experience in Machine Manufacturing, Industrial Automation, or Special Purpose Machine (SPM) Design.
- Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding, sheet metal, casting, and assembly.
- Experience with pneumatic, hydraulic, and mechanical motion systems.
- Understanding of DFM/DFA principles and Product Lifecycle Management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred Skills

- Experience with Windchill, Teamcenter, or other PDM/PLM tools.
- Exposure to PLCs, robotics, and automation integration.
- Knowledge of ISO, ASME, and ANSI standards for machinery.

Key Screening Criteria

Only candidates with practical experience in Ball Screws, LM Rails, Servo Motor selection & sizing, and mechanical design calculations will be shortlisted. Applications that do not meet these mandatory technical requirements will not be considered.
