Job Profile

Patient oriented:

- Receiving patients

- Taking valuable care of patients

- Explaining the procedure to patients

- Checking of referral note and relevant medical records

- Taking the history of the patient

- Checking baseline and exercise vitals

- Mock trials are given to the patients

- Attaching the Halter monitoring and Ambulatory BP machine to the patient

Instructing the patient on the use of the Holter monitor and Ambulatory BP machine

Inventory oriented:

Maintaining the checklist for the equipments in the Cardiology Lab

Medication related:

- Checking & maintaining the stock of drugs and consumables

- Indenting drugs & consumables

- Transferring and acknowledging stock

Showing consumption for used stock

Department related:

- Maintaining the cleanliness and tidiness of the department

- Recoding DVD for the tests of each patient.

- Taking daily back from the cardiology machines.

Taking the machines to areas of the hospital as per the need.

Skills

- Technical know how:





- Functioning of the diagnostic equipments used in the cardiology lab

- Understanding of cardiology machine interface

- Basic knowledge about machine maintenance and trouble shooting.

Basic knowledge about HIS

Alertness:

- Comfort level of the patient

- Patient safety

Registering early signs of abnormal vital signs

Interpersonal skills:

- Good communication with patients, doctors, front office & colleagues

- Polite & courteous

- Counseling patients pre and post test

Supportive to patients undergoing tests/procedures

Basic Emergency training:

- Requires training in patient safety

- Requires training in first aid & BLS

- Training in use of defibrillator

Additional responsibilities if any –

- Coordinate in typing of the investigation reports

- Facilitating in signing of the reports by the Consultant

Assisting and helping patients, front office and colleagues
