About the Role

SteelonCall is looking for an experienced and result-oriented Purchase Manager to lead procurement operations for steel and allied products. The ideal candidate should have strong experience in the steel industry, extensive vendor networks, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of managing large-scale procurement activities.

Key Responsibilities

Procurement & Vendor Management

- Manage end-to-end procurement of steel products, raw materials, and allied construction materials.
- Develop and maintain robust relationships with manufacturers, mills, distributors, and suppliers across India.
- Source materials at competitive prices while ensuring quality and timely delivery.
- Negotiate commercial terms, contracts, payment terms, and supply agreements with vendors.

Strategic Sourcing

- Identify new sourcing opportunities and develop alternate supplier networks.
- Monitor steel market trends, pricing fluctuations, and demand forecasts.
- Develop procurement strategies to optimize costs and improve supply chain efficiency.

Inventory & Supply Planning

- Coordinate with Sales, Operations, and Logistics teams to forecast procurement requirements.
- Ensure adequate stock availability while minimizing excess inventory.
- Monitor procurement schedules and vendor commitments.





Cost Control & Process Improvement

- Drive procurement cost optimization initiatives.
- Analyze procurement data and prepare MIS reports for management review.
- Implement best procurement practices and process improvements.

Compliance & Documentation

- Ensure proper documentation of purchase orders, contracts, invoices, and vendor records.
- Maintain compliance with company procurement policies and industry standards.

Required Skills

- Strong knowledge of the Steel Industry and steel procurement processes.
- Excellent negotiation and vendor management skills.
- Strong analytical and commercial acumen.
- Experience in handling large procurement volumes.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and Advanced Excel.
- Strong communication and leadership abilities.

Qualification

- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Commerce, Business Administration, or related field.
- MBA in Supply Chain, Operations, or Procurement preferred.

Experience Required

- 8–15 years of procurement experience.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the Steel Industry is mandatory.
- Existing relationships with steel manufacturers, mills, and distributors will be a strong advantage.
