About the Role

Vasantrao Naik Mahavidyalaya (Autonomous) invites applications for the position of Mathematics Faculty to teach industry-oriented mathematics courses that support Business, Finance, Computing, Data Science, and Life Sciences. The ideal candidate should possess strong mathematical foundations, excellent teaching skills, and the ability to connect mathematical concepts with practical applications through problem-solving and analytical learning.

Key ResponsibilitiesAcademic Responsibilities

- Deliver engaging classroom lectures, tutorials, and practical sessions.
- Prepare lesson plans, course materials, assignments, and assessments aligned with curriculum outcomes.
- Conduct continuous assessments through quizzes, tutorials, projects, case studies, and presentations.
- Guide students in mathematical modeling, computational problem-solving, and research-based assignments.
- Mentor students for academic excellence, competitive examinations, higher studies, and career development.
- Maintain attendance, assessment records, and academic documentation.

Practical & Applied Learning

- Demonstrate real-world applications of mathematics in business, computing, finance, statistics, and research.
- Integrate mathematical software, spreadsheets, and computational tools into teaching.
- Promote analytical thinking, logical reasoning, and quantitative decision-making.
- Organize workshops, seminars, guest lectures, and value-added certification programs.

Research & Development

- Encourage research-oriented learning and interdisciplinary projects.
- Guide students in research methodology, statistical analysis, and mathematical modeling.




- Participate in curriculum design and continuous academic improvement.
- Stay updated with developments in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Data Analytics, and Computational Mathematics.

Administrative Responsibilities

- Participate in departmental meetings, academic planning, and institutional committees.
- Support NAAC, NBA, NEP, and Autonomous College documentation.
- Assist in admissions, student mentoring, orientation programs, examination duties, and placement-related activities.

Subjects to be Taught

The faculty member should be capable of teaching one or more of the following subjects:

- Mathematics for Business & Finance
- Business Mathematics & Quantitative Reasoning
- Mathematics for Computing I
- Biostatistics and Research Mathematics

Required Qualifications

- Master's Degree in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Computational Mathematics, or a related discipline.
- NET/SET/Ph.D. preferred as per UGC and State Government norms (where applicable).
- Minimum 2 years of teaching and/or relevant industry experience.
